Daimon
Daimon or big gate, is a historical main gateway to Zojoji temple. It is a 1937 reconstruction of the original 1588 gateway, the original being damaged and considered unsafe during the 1923 earthquake that destroyed a lot of the city.The original was moved and replaced by a new gateway with the original being destroyed in the 1945 firebombings of Tokyo. The Daimon gives its name to the local area including a subway station.
This reproduction of ink print is attached to the base of the gate.
